War Memorial
From May 4 – 6/1945, the small island of Okinawa has become one of the bloodiest battles in World War II with about 200,000 people dead and much suicide. As a reminder of the past, the people of Okinawa have created a memorial and museum about World War II. Okinawa previously has caves and tunnels that the Japanese used as a hospital, the military headquarters and finally to house suicidal war.

Shuri Palace
Shuri Castle is part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site known as the Castle of the Kingdom of Ryukyu. The palace is located on the top of the hills with big windows. It was the official residence of the Ryukyu clan until 1879.

Tamaudun Mausoleum
A traditional Okinawan style tomb was made stone, but it was built on a grand scale that is Tamaudun Mausoleum. It is still part of the World Heritage castle called the Ryukyu Kingdom and related relics.

The tomb was built in the 16th century but was badly damaged during World War II. Today, the three surviving tomb can still be found: one for the king and queen, a prince and princess, and one for the back.
